Why Locals Love Starbucks
Nestled conveniently on 1745 George Washington Way in Richland, WA, Starbucks is far more than just your everyday coffee stop. As a multi-category destination—embracing the roles of coffee shop, breakfast restaurant, café, espresso bar, coffee store, and internet café—it serves as a vibrant hub for locals and visitors alike craving quality, comfort, and community.
Step inside this modern yet warmly inviting space, and you immediately feel the pulse of a busy, friendly team dedicated to brightening your day. Customers repeatedly praise the staff’s genuine kindness and professionalism—even during the busiest rushes—making it not only a place to grab a coffee but a spot where you are truly valued. As David Mordue reflects, the “good people here will help you have a good start to your day,” a sentiment echoed throughout the experience.
Starbucks at this location artfully elevates your usual caffeine fix with trending menu items that tease and delight the senses. Imagine the Iced Ube Coconut Macchiato: a full-bodied espresso poured over velvety milk and infused with toasted coconut-flavored syrup, served over chilled ice, crowned with a dreamy ube coconut cold foam and topped with toasted coconut flakes. This drink offers a beautiful balance of rich, nutty vanilla sweetness with a vibrant pop of purple—a feast for both eyes and taste buds.
Another standout is the Toasted Coconut Cream Cold Brew, a masterful twist on the beloved Starbucks® Cold Brew. Finished with a luscious layer of toasted coconut cold foam, it lends a smooth, tropical indulgence that caresses the palate. The depth of coffee paired with subtle coconut notes transforms each sip into a mini escape.
Aside from the beverages, the atmosphere here resonates with openness and charm. Ariel N describes it as a “big and pretty new store” with “super friendly” staff and fast service, making it an ideal spot not just for quick pickups but also for relaxed catch-ups or solo moments with a laptop, thanks to the reliable internet café facilities.
The addition of a drive-thru is a smart enhancement, blending convenience with quality. As Jordan Schilling notes, this feature amplifies accessibility without sacrificing the hallmark Starbucks experience, allowing you to savor your favorite drinks on-the-go with minimal wait.
Though Starbucks has grown from its humble Seattle origins into a global commercial powerhouse—prompting some, like Ansel, to seek out niche local cafés for that “artisanal, cool vibe”—this Richland location still manages to preserve a sense of community, warmth, and consistency that keeps loyal customers returning.
Whether you’re after a perfectly crafted espresso drink, a cozy spot to work, or just a welcoming atmosphere to start your day right, this Starbucks blends innovation and tradition seamlessly, offering not just coffee, but a genuine moment of joy.
For a dependable and delightful coffee experience infused with modern favorites and heartfelt hospitality, make this Starbucks your next stop in Richland.

I am 50, born in Seattle. I remember when Starbucks was an artesian coffee shop near the Pike Street Market. It was cool because it was not pretentious. Now it is very commercial, and not cool. Now I go to an Albanian coffee shop, ran by immigrants......it's got a cool vibe.

While eggnog is a powdered mix w/ H²O & halfnhalf, not bad. It doesn't need the Xtra shot I've ordered in the past. Too bad as a Corp the training to make Cappacinnos is seriously deficient. Or the baristas just don't care and put the pitcher under the wand, set it on the tray and walk away, in effect. To get a real Cap, can only do so @ locally owned, non-chain establishment. Seattle, Portland, NYC, LA, etc. had a great one in Riverside Cali! At least its not Dutch Bro's or Dunkin! We like COFFEE! Not sugar Bonus: only store open on the holiday, 6-3pm
